Man Arrested In North County Road Rage Dispute

VISTA, CA — A man was arrested after firing a less-lethal rubber bullet gun at a vehicle during a road rage dispute in San Diego's North County, authorities said.

Kyle Macpherson, 36, is accused of opening fire at the victim's vehicle Dec. 28 near the intersection of North Melrose and West Bobier drives in Vista, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office. No injuries were reported, but the vehicle sustained more than $1,400 in damage, officials said.

Detectives served a search warrant and enforced a gun violence restraining order for Macpherson around 6 a.m. Thursday as he left his home in the 600 block of Ascot Drive in Vista, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies discovered two less-lethal handguns, a billy club, and ammunition in Macpherson's vehicle, the sheriff's office said. An additional 13 firearms and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition were found at his home.

Macpherson was arrested and booked into the Vista Detention Facility on suspicion of multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a billy club and felony vandalism.
