Carlsbad police were on the lookout today for a tattooed man who stabbed a security guard in his head.
The security guard was on routine patrol when he confronted the suspect
near a Dumpster behind 7110 Avenida Encinas about 7 p.m. Thursday, according to
Carlsbad police.
The suspect brandished a knife and stabbed the guard in his head, police
said. The guard was treated at a local hospital and expected to survive, they
said.
The suspect, who fled on foot, was described as white, 20-30 years old
and about 6 feet tall, with a thin build and multiple tattoos on his right arm.
He had shoulder length dark brown hair, wore dark pants and white tennis
shoes and was unshaven or had a short beard, police said.
