Opening Day for Carlsbad’s Newest Movie Theater

Cinépolis Luxury Cinemas is ready to open the doors to its newest location at the corner of El Camino Real and Dove Lane.

Movie fans have one more option beginning today with the opening of the six-screen in the Plaza Paseo Real Shopping Center.

After two soft-opening nights Wednesday and Thursday for friends and family, the theater is scheduled to open to the public at noon for Friday matinees, said finance manager Enrique Partida.

First-time visitors will notice something not normally seen in a movie theater lobby: a fully stocked bar. Food and drink can also be ordered from each seat in the house. Two of the six theaters will allow alcohol service, with admission restricted to those 21 and older.

The opening-day lineup will feature: The Vow; Star Wars: Episode I; Journey 2 3D; Hugo 3D; Safe House; The Descendants.
