Currently, churches are asked to refrain from certain practices that might increase the spread of the virus including singing, sharing items or having physical contact with others.
Nathan Fletcher, District 4 supervisor, acknowledged Gov. Gavin Newsom's statewide order Tuesday allowing salons and barber shops to reopen.
Fletcher reiterated Newsom's requirements for face coverings, temperature checks, hand washing and physical distancing in salons and barber shops.
Before salons and barber shops reopen, they are required to complete San Diego County's Safe Reopening Plan, share that plan with employees and post guidelines for customers to see.
The reopening does not apply to nail salons or to salon services that require the removal of masks; eyelash implants, brow waxing and threading, facials and shaves are prohibited.
Officials said the county is now allowing one-on-one instruction for sports activities when physical distancing can be followed.
