2 Women Charged With Felonies For JC Penney Theft

Prosecutors say the women stole clothing and jewelry worth over $950.

HAYWARD, CA — Two women have been charged with grand theft for allegedly stealing from a JCPenney store in Hayward, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office said.

Florentina Salai, 24, and Alexandra Caldararu, 20, allegedly stole clothing and jewelry from a Hayward JCPenney store, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Prosecutors believe that on Saturday, the defendants entered the store and took property exceeding $950 in value. The pair were detained by loss prevention staff that day.

Both women are charged with one felony count of grand theft of personal property.
Their next court date is Feb. 18.
