Castro Valley Realtor Lights Up The Night With Annual Holiday Display
Now in its seventh year, Castro Valley Lights delights young and old alike, organizers say.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Castro Valley residents Bob and Malia Frey are lighting up the night for the seventh year in a row with their over-the-top holiday display, Castro Valley Lights.
Set to Christmas classics such as "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch," "The 12 Days of Christmas" and "Mele Kaliki Maka" along with rollicking tunes like "Don't Stop The Santaman," a mash-up of Journey's hit "Don't Stop Believing" and "Metallica's Enter Sandman," Realtor Bob Frey's home at 17923 Trenton Drive in Castro Valley is a must see this holiday season.
"We have been getting about 3,000 cars come to the show each of the past two Decembers," the Frey family said in an email to Patch. "This years show is better than ever with many improvements over years' past."

Improvements to the show include a mailbox for letters to Santa. Anyone who includes their address gets a letter to Santa addressed to their children, the Freys said.
Also new this year is the ability to control the show from a smart phone. Users just go to the show website and click on the red "Juke box" button which will bring visitors to a page where they can vote for their favorite songs from an expanded list, moving that song up to, or near the top of the playlist.

"You are welcome to park right in front of our house at the end of the cul-de-sac or anywhere on the street and tune your radio to 93.9 FM and enjoy the show.," the Freys said. " Please turn off your headlights and keep an eye out for neighbors trying to come or go."
A canned food drive is also underway, the Freys said, adding that donations are always appreciated but not necessary to visit the show.
