East Bay Regional Parks Announces Closure Of Parks Due To Storm
All parks managed by East Bay Regional Parks District are closed Wednesday and Thursday due to expected storm conditions and high winds.

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — Citing expected storm conditions and high winds, East Bay Regional Parks District announced the closure of all of its parks effective Wednesday, Jan. 4 through Thursday, Jan. 5, earlier today.
"Public safety is the Park District’s top priority," the Parks District said in a news release issued via email. "Residents should not enter closed parks. Public safety personnel may not be able to respond to emergencies due to road and trail conditions."
Anyone entering Regional Parks when they are closed is subject to citation or arrest for violation of the Park District’s Ordinance 38, the news release said.

Since high winds and the saturated ground due to ongoing rainstorms can cause falling trees and branches which can create safety hazards, the Park District will assess the condition of all parks before reopening them on Friday, Jan. 6, the Parks District said.
"When parks are reopened, visitors are encouraged to be mindful of conditions and exercise caution in the parks," the Parks District said.
