Flood Watch Issued For Castro Valley

CASTRO VALLEY, CA — A flood watch has been issued for Castro Valley and the greater Bay Area, by the National Weather Service. The watch went into effect at noon Friday and lasts through the weekend. It is currently expected to expire at 10 p.m. Sunday.

The "storm door" has opened, with rain falling throughout the Bay Area, as an atmospheric river moved onshore Friday morning.

The impact of the rain will build from Friday into Saturday.

Be mindful of slick roads, roadway flooding, and rising creeks. If your neighborhood has experienced flooding in the past, take extra precautions. Call maintenance crews if you see trouble spots.
