HAYWARD, CA — Hayward firefighters battled an intense fire in a commercial building Monday night, requiring a second alarm response before they extinguished it.
Hayward Fire Department spokesperson Don Nichelson said firefighters responded at 9:34 p.m., initially entering the insulation business at Tripaldi Way and Hall Road from the front and the rear.
Nichelson said firefighters had to quickly exit the building and assume a defensive posture due to the fire's ferocity.
