Sheriff's Department Arrest Two in Connection with 1990 Castro Valley Murder

The Alameda County Sheriff’s Department is holding a press conference Tuesday morning to describe how investigators in the cold case unit identified two suspects in a murder that happened 23 years ago in Castro Valley.

Relatives of Steven Rudiger, who was found murdered on Redwood Road in 1990, will also be at the press conference, according to the Sheriff’s Department. The media event will be at 10:30 a.m. at the department’s Dublin office.

A passing motorist found the 43-year-old victim dead from stab wounds near the entrance to Chabot Park.
