Suspect In Deadly Shooting Arrested
Police say the suspect's father was also arrested for hiding him from authorities.
HAYWARD, CA — Police arrested a 34-year-old Hayward man this week in connection with an August shooting death and took his father into custody for allegedly hiding him from authorities.
Shawn Moayer is suspected of fatally shooting 36-year-old Hayward resident Matthew Beck on Aug. 26.
The shooting was reported about 3:25 p.m. near the 22000 block of Santa Clara Street in Hayward, where officers found Beck with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Shawn Moayer was identified as a suspect and officers arrested him on Wednesday after finding him on Endeavour Way in Union City, near the home of his adoptive father, 59-year-old Houman Moayer.
Police said Houman Moayer "knowingly aided, concealed and harbored" the suspect to keep him from being arrested. Houman Moayer was taken into custody on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact.

The death is the Hayward's 10th homicide of 2024.
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information related to the homicide is asked to call Detective Scinto at (510) 293-7176.
