Body of Artesia Man Found at Waste Disposal Transfer Site in Huntington Beach

An autopsy is pending on the body of the 44-year-old man who was found inside a truck filled with green waste at Rainbow Environmental Services in Huntington Beach.

An autopsy was pending today for an Artesia man whose body was found at a "green waste" disposal transfer site in Huntington Beach.

The body of the 44-year-old local was discovered around 1:20 p.m. Tuesday when employees unloaded a truck at Rainbow Environmental Services, located 17121 Nichols Lane, said Huntington Beach police Capt. Russell Reinhart.

The truck in which the body was found was bringing in green waste materials collected from Los Angeles County, he said.

Authorities were withholding the man's name, pending further investigation into the circumstances of his death, Reinhart said.

There was no sign of trauma on the body, but detectives are trying to determine if foul play was involved, the captain added. He said an autopsy was pending.

Reinhart told the Orange County Register that there is no indication this incident is related to the . The man is from Artesia, which is located in Los Angeles County, and was not homeless, Reinhart told the newspaper.

Rainbow Environmental Services is a transfer site for green waste, such as tree clippings and other vegetation.
