Cerritos PTSA Bowling Fundraiser Yields More Than $6,200

The organization's first bowling fundraiser was held at AMF Cerritos Lanes on Saturday, Feb. 4.

The PTSA raised more than $6,200 during its first ever bowling fundraiser held last Saturday.

The fun-filled afternoon took place at , where more than 100 students, families and members of the community gathered to enjoy a few hours of bowling, dining, a silent auction and the raffling of a variety of prizes, which were donated by local businesses and parents.

Other sponsors included former Cerritos Mayor Laura Lee, , , OR Global, All American Trophy, Wilcor Contracting, Dennis Gorospe, oral surgeon and many of the students' parents.

The funds raised will be used to help the PTSA pay for 2,000 student agendas as well as provide two $500 scholarships to seniors -- something the PTSA provides each year. In year's past, PTSA funds have been used to help pay for other school "wish list" items, such as the school's electronic marquee,  a big screen projector in the gym, lunch tables and chairs for the students.
