Another year and another celebration for Donna and Lloyd Wyman who met as kids in Seattle, Washington in 1942. The couple started dating in their senior year of high school in 1946, and married three years later when Donna was 19-yrs-old. Both of their fathers were clergymen and, as such, both performed the wedding ceremony. The couple stayed in ministry in the Pacific Northwest, until moving to Long Beach in 1960. Lloyd filled several pastorates in large churches in Southern California, while Donna worked as a receptionist. In 2012, the couple moved to Paradise, to be closer to their son, until they lost everything in the Camp Fire in November 2018. Fast-forward to this week; in a year where the pandemic has taken fun out of most celebrations. The staff at The Terraces of Chico wanted to host a Covid-safe wedding anniversary dinner for the happy couple with their son Scott and daughter-in-law Janette. The remembrance was outdoors in the gazebo which was decorated with red roses. After the meal, the group opted for apple pie a-la-mode rather than cake. According to Brad Azevedo, executive director, The Terraces of Chico, “It was so great to see how happy everyone was. I'm not sure who was more excited, Donna and Lloyd, their son and his wife, or the staff? It was a beautiful anniversary for them and we feel grateful to see them so happy.”
