SHERIFF’S OFFICE CONDUCTING ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON  INVESTIGATION

Oroville, CA – On November 05, 2021, at 12:08 PM the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received a call about a stabbing that occurred at a residence located in the 3100 block of Oro Bangor Highway, Oroville.  BCSO deputies were immediately dispatched to the area.  Upon arrival, deputies located two victims that had been stabbed.  The victims were immediately transported to a local hospital where they are currently receiving treatment.

During a subsequent investigation, deputies and detectives determined Ronald Vaughan, age 29, of Oroville, showed up at the aforementioned residence around 12:00 PM.  Detectives determined Vaughan knows the victim’s family.  Detectives located evidence that Vaughan was accompanied by several other individuals when he arrived at the residence.

During the investigation, detectives located evidence that gave them cause to believe Vaughan stabbed both victims.  Deputies and detectives are actively looking for Vaughan.  Detectives are in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for Vaughan.  A photograph of Vaughan is attached to this press release.  This investigation is on-going.  If anyone has information about this investigation, they are encouraged to call BCSO detectives at 530-538-7671.
