The City of Claremont is pleased to announce the return of the annual 4th of July Celebration. The annual event was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the ongoing pandemic. City staff, with support from the Independence Day Committee, has made several changes to the event lineup to ensure adequate staffing for the Freedom 5000 Run/Walk, parade, festival, and fireworks show.

The celebration will begin on Saturday, July 2, 2022 with the Claremont Village Freedom 5000 Run/Walk. This is a change from previous years, with the run now being held on the Saturday before the 4th of July. The run is co-hosted by the City of Claremont and the Claremont High School Cross Country Team Boosters and features a 1K Kids Fun Run, a 5K Run, and a 5K Walk. The Kids 1K will begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by the 5K Run at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K Walk/Competitive Race Walk at 8:05 a.m.
The festivities will continue Monday, July 4, 2022, with the return of the pancake breakfast, parade, festival, and fireworks show. The Kiwanis will be serving a delicious pancake breakfast from 7:00 a.m. -10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park. At 9:00 a.m. there will be a flag raising ceremony that includes presentations for the Grand Marshal, Honored Citizen, and Honored Community Group. The festival featuring information booths, kids activities, live music, and food vendors will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m. The T. Willard Hunter Speakers Corner will run from 10:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The annual parade will begin at its new time, 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Park and travel south on Indian Hill, west on Harrison and end at Larkin Park.
On the evening of July 4, 2022, the gates for the Concert and Fireworks Show will open at Strehle Track at 6:30 p.m. The Kiwanis will be serving up BBQ items and glow items will also be available for sale. Claremont favorites, The Ravelers, will take the stage at 6:45 p.m. and perform until the beginning of the fireworks show by Exposhows at 9:00 p.m.
