The Los Angeles County Sanitation District will host a FREE Household Hazardous Waste Drive-Thru Collection Event on Saturday, February 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Claremont City Yard, located at 1616 Monte Vista Avenue, Claremont.

Attendees will be asked to wear a face covering and stay in their vehicle with the windows closed, if possible.  Sharps disposal will require exiting your vehicle to deposit sharps in a bin.  Household hazardous waste and electronic waste should be carefully placed in a sturdy box in the trunk or truck bed to allow for socially distanced collection.

HHW items includes any product labeled: toxic, poison, combustible, corrosive, flammable, or irritant.  Common types of HHW include electronic waste, paints, pesticides, lubricants, drain cleaners, fluorescent light bulbs, prescription medication, and batteries.  There is a limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of waste per trip.

The Recycling Center located at the City Yard will be closed Friday, February 4 through Sunday, February 6 to accommodate the annual Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up. The Recycling Center will resume normal operations on Friday, February 11.
