Are you moving, renovating, or need a place to temporarily store items? You can request a permit to temporarily store a cargo container at your home. Containers must be placed in a location where they do not create a sight obstruction for motorists, block any public access to another property, and have minimal impact to street sweeping. Preferred locations for storage containers are within a driveway or an interior yard area. When that is not possible, the container may be located at the curb on the public street in most residential areas. Containers are restricted to no more than eight feet high, eight feet wide, and twenty feet long. City approval of storage on private property is free of charge; however, containers placed on City streets require a $133.15 Encroachment Permit. For more information, or to request a temporary permit for storage containers, please contact the City’s Planning Division at (909) 399-5470.
