Upland Man Identified In Fatal Claremont Freeway Collision

The collision happened on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Claremont on Friday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CLAREMONT, CA — An Upland man was identified Sunday as the motorcyclist who was killed in a collision on the eastbound Foothill Freeway in Claremont on Friday.

Richard Merced, 28, was riding his motorcycle near the Baseline Road off-ramp around 4:18 p.m. when he collided with a Lexus sedan, according to the California Highway Patrol. He died at the scene, according to authorities.

The driver of the Lexus was examined by Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics, and their condition is unknown, according to a LACFD official.
