1 Dead In Crash At Highway 160, Highway 4 Interchange

The fatality was discovered at about 6:15 a.m. Thursday.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — A man was found dead after being ejected out of his vehicle in a crash near a connector ramp between state Highway 160 and state Highway 4 in Antioch this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officers responded at 6:17 a.m. to the solo car crash and found a 1991 Honda Accord in the large dirt median embankment that separates the two highways.

Investigators determined the man, whose name was not immediately available, was driving the Honda south on Highway 160 and drove off the road in the area of the ramp from southbound Highway 160 to westbound Highway 4, CHP officials said.

He was ejected from the vehicle after presumably not wearing his seatbelt properly and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
