2 Children Killed In Concord Hit-And-Run; Person-Of-Interest Identified
BREAKING: Authorities say the suspect in the fatal hit-and-run fled the scene on foot.

CONCORD, CA — Two children, a 10-year-old boy and a 5-year-old boy, were killed in a crash on the Solano Avenue on-ramp Friday night when authorities say the driver of a silver Infiniti drove directly towards the car the children were in.
A 3-month-old in a car seat and the 35-year-old mother both sustained major injuries and were taken to local hospitals. Authorities said the family is from San Pablo.
According to the California Highway Patrol-Contra Costa Division, at around 10:55 p.m., a silver Infiniti was going westbound on State Route 4 towards the Solano Avenue off-ramp at the same time that a Dodge Durango was traveling on the on-ramp from Solano Avenue to State Route 4, which is adjacent the off-ramp.

In a press release, the CHP said that the driver of the Infiniti drove off the roadway and directly towards the Durango, slamming into the left rear side of the car. According to the CHP, it is unclear why the driver drove off the roadway.
The CHP said the collision was so severe that the Durango was pushed sideways down to the edge of the on-ramp and the Infiniti was catapulted over the dividing fence and into the parking lot of Kinders where it came to a rest just a short distance from the front door.

Witnesses told the CHP the driver of the Infiniti fled on foot towards the Solano drive-in movie theater. Authorities searched for the driver but were unable to find him. He was described as a black male between 5-feet-10 and 6-feet-1 in height with short black hair and wearing a gray or dirty white shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. He is also said to have sustained injuries to his head and his face and may have additional injuries as well.
The CHP has identified Lemuel Sirvonn Wilson Jr., 35, as a person-of-interest in the crash. Anyone who may have information on his whereabouts is asked to call 707-551-4100 and say that they have information for CHP - Contra Costa and Officer Odom.
