City Offices, Police HQ Closed Next Week for Furloughs

From the City of Concord:

City of Concord offices will be closed from Monday, Nov. 19 through Friday, Nov. 23 for unpaid furlough days and the Thanksgiving holiday. Employees are taking 13 unpaid furlough days during the 2012-13 fiscal year, equivalent to a five-percent reduction in pay, to help balance the General Fund budget.  

Offices to be closed include the Civic Center complex (1950 Parkside Drive), Public Works (1455 Gasoline Alley), the Concord Senior Citizens Center (2727 Parkside Circle), Police Headquarters (1350 Galindo St.), Willow Pass Center (2748 East Olivera Rd.) and Centre Concord (5298 Clayton Rd.). Concord Community Pool (3501 Cowell Rd.) will be open holiday hours from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Nov. 23, but closed for the furlough days and Thanksgiving Day.

Police patrol and dispatch operations will not be affected by the closures. A minimum number of non-sworn staff will continue on duty during the furlough days, primarily in an on-call capacity, to provide essential building inspection and maintenance services.
