Antioch Safeway Crash Leaves 4 Injured

A motorist drove a vehicle into a Safeway store in Antioch Monday afternoon, injuring four people.

ANTIOCH - A motorist drove a vehicle into a Safeway store in Antioch on Monday afternoon, injuring four people, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District inspector said.

The crash occurred at 4:22 p.m. at the Safeway at 3365 Deer Valley Road, Fire Inspector Steve Aubert said.

Four people suffered injuries from minor to moderate in severity, Aubert said.

Aubert was not immediately able to say whether the injured people were occupants of the car.

He also was not able to provide the extent of damage to the grocery store.
