Arrest Made in Contra Costa County Walmart Restroom Stabbing

SOLANO COUNTY, CA -- Police in Antioch have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing that occurred inside a Walmart bathroom on Thursday.

Officers with the Antioch Police Department responded at 9:20 p.m. on March 30 to the Walmart at 4893 Lone Tree Way on a report of a possible stabbing victim inside the store's restroom.

Police said the parties involved in the incident got into an argument off the property at a nearby location and ran into the restroom inside the Walmart.

The argument continued in the bathroom, and the victim was ultimately stabbed, police said.

The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The suspect, whose name has not been released by police, was taken into custody at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of felony assault.

Police were able to recover the weapon from the scene.
