Auction Gift Baskets Stolen From Concord Little League
Concord police confirmed they received a report of the basket thefts on March 16.
CONCORD, CA β Several gift baskets created for a silent auction were stolen this month from Concord American Little League, the association said. Nearly all of the baskets were stored in an on-site locked storage unit that had never been broken into previously, according to league
officials.
The baskets were last seen on March 13 as league officials were gathering photos for the auction to post online. When they went back to retrieve the baskets on March 16 for that day's auction, they found they were gone.
The stolen baskets had themes of Oakland A's (two), Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants and "date night."

"We have no clues or leads, and although a police report was filed, there is simply nothing that they can do in this situation," league President Rick Munoz wrote in an email. "The remaining basket auctions were still a huge success, but the entire event will only be remembered for the
negative."

"There was no damage to the storage unit or the lock, and there are no witnesses or surveillance footage in the area, so our investigators have no leads to follow up on in trying to identify a suspect or locate the stolen items," police Cpl. Summer Galer said in an email.
Munoz noted that although the theft was a blow to his organization, it pales in comparison with what many other Northern California leagues have experienced, especially those that have suffered from the major wildfires over the past few years.
