Autopsy: Father Died From 'Rib Fractures From Traumatic Injury'

Richard Wester's son was arrested on suspicion of killing his father on Friday.

An autopsy on a 61-year-old man who lived in unincorporated Clayton determined that his cause of death was "blood in chest due to multiple rib fractures from traumatic injury," according to Contra Costa Sheriff spokesman Jimmy Lee.

Arrested for suspicion of killing Richard Wester was his son, 22-year-old Matthew Wester, currently being held in county jail in Martinez. His bail has been set at $1 million.

The younger Wester was arrested Friday after Sheriff's deputies investigated the death of the elder Wester at his home on the 400 block of Meadow Lane near Clayton. Matthew Wester was arrested after being interviewed on the scene.
