San Francisco-bound BART trains were delayed when a train had to be taken out of service at the Concord station. (Breaking)

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — There were brief delays for San Francisco-bound BART trains on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line this morning after a train had to be taken out of service at the Concord station for a mechanical issue, a dispatcher said. The problem occurred around 7:30 a.m. Thursday at the station at 1451 Oakland Ave., prompting people to get off the train.
The train eventually went back into service and normal service resumed. More information about the nature of the problem was not immediately available.
BART is running reduced service on the Pittsburg/Bay Point line this week between the Christmas and New Year's holidays because of anticipated lower ridership.
