City Of Concord Seeks Feedback On Improving 3 Roadways

The city has set up a web page for submitting comments. Interactive workshops are also planned.

CONCORD, CA β€” Public meetings will be held April 23 and May 2 to gather opinions on how the city should best improve three major roadways for drivers, bicyclists, pedestrians and transit users. The City of Concord has set up a web page for submitting comments on the city's Complete Streets Feasibility Study, aimed at making these corridors more friendly for all users.

The three corridors are Cowell Road from Ygnacio Valley Road to Galindo Street, about three miles; Willow Pass Road from Market Street to Ashdale Drive, also about three miles; and Galindo Street between Cowell Road and Willow Pass Road, about a half mile.

During the "information gathering" phase one, people are encouraged to share their thoughts on the web page (https://concord.altaplanning.cloud/#/) about how they now use, or would like
to use, these roads. Participants can offer feedback on destinations they would like to bike or walk to, routes that function well or need improvement, and barriers to biking or walking.

In phase two of this project, which kicks off April 23, residents will be invited to participate in public interactive workshops, called "design labs," to learn more about the project and to evaluate possible roadway alternatives.

The April 23 workshop will focus on Willow Pass Road and Galindo Street, while the May 2 workshop will address Cowell Road.

Both meetings will take place at the Concord Senior Center, 2727 Parkside Circle. Participants can RSVP at http://bit.ly/ConcordDesign.

The study's final phase will be refining the proposed design and presenting the plan, using information gathered at the workshops and from the Complete Streets web page.
