Concord Man Arrested In Domestic Incident, Police Say

Officers responded after a woman called 911 and said her ex-boyfriend was "trying to kill her," police said.

CONCORD, CA — Police in Concord on Friday arrested a man in connection with a domestic incident involving his ex-girlfriend and her children. On Friday at 7:29 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call from a frantic woman the 1700 block of Thornwood Drive. The woman told police that her ex-boyfriend was in the house with her and her three children and was "trying to kill her."

Officers arrived at the home and located two of the children outside the residence. The children told police the ex-boyfriend was inside with the woman and the other child.

Police were able to contact the woman, and she told them her ex-boyfriend was armed and would not let her leave.

After a few minutes, officers heard the woman scream for help, so they forced entry into the home and were able to get the woman and child away from the suspect.

The woman and child were not injured during the incident.

The suspect, identified as Jason Tan, 35, of Concord, was taken into custody and ultimately arrested.
