Concord Police Department Welcomes 4 New Officers

The officers are among 48 who graduated with the 200th class of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Basic Training Academy.

CONCORD, CA β€” Four new officers were welcomed to the Concord Police Department this week.

The officers were among 48 who graduated from the 200th class of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Basic Training Academy. A ceremony was held Friday at the Lesher Center in Walnut Creek to congratulate the officers who completed six months of rigorous training.

The new Concord police officersβ€”Keny Rodriguez, Carmella Craig, Hendro Yauw, and Zachary Schafferβ€”were sworn in Monday by Concord police Chief Mark Bustillos, with their friends and family in attendance.

They will have a two-week orientation and begin their rigorous Field Training program thereafter.

"We wish them the best in their law enforcement careers," the Concord Police Department said. "Congratulations to our new officers and their families!"

In addition to the Concord Police Department, academy graduates headed to the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office, BART Police, Berkeley Police Department, the East Bay Regional Parks District, El Cerrito Police Department, Hercules Police Department, the Napa County Sheriff's Department, Pittsburg Police Department, Pleasant Hill Police Department, Pleasanton Police Department, Richmond Police Department, San Rafael Police Department, the Solano County Sheriff's Office, Tiburon Police Department, the University of California Police and Walnut Creek Police Department.
