Concord Seeking Volunteers To Serve On City Boards, Committees

Interested residents have to apply with the city clerk's office by 5 p.m. on Jan. 11.

CONCORD, CA β€” The city of Concord is asking residents to volunteer for open positions on numerous boards and committees, several of which advise city officials on matters pertaining to transportation infrastructure and planning.

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board is looking for two appointees with enthusiasm for cycling and alternate transportation modes to serve four-year terms ending in 2023.

The Central Contra Costa Transit Authority Advisory Committee is seeking a volunteer to serve a two-year term advising the CCCTA Board of Directors on service issues and concerns collected from the directors' respective areas.

The Contra Costa Transit Authority's Citizen Advisory Committee is also seeking a volunteer to finish out a term ending in February 2020, reviewing and commenting on transportation policy.

The Design Review Board and the Planning Commission are both seeking two volunteers for four-year terms ending in 2023. As suggested by the name, the board reviews designs for development proposals, as well as any project referred to the board by city officials.

The Planning Commission develops and maintains the long-range General Plan. It also reviews use permits, rezoning applications, tentative subdivision maps and development plans.

The Concord Pavilion Outreach Committee is seeking four volunteers to serve two-year terms helping the Pavilion's general manager attract additional events outside of the venue's existing concert season.

The Personnel Board is also seeking three volunteers for four-year terms conducting hearings on personnel matters, hearing appeals and grievances and preparing reports for city officials.
