Concord Treasurer Appointed to City Council

The Concord City Council selected Tim McGallian to fill the position left vacant by Tim Grayson, who was elected to the state Assembly.

CONCORD, CA -- Concord City Treasurer Tim McGallian has been unanimously chosen by the City Council to fill the seat that was left vacant when a Councilmember was elected to the state Assembly last year.

McGallian was appointed to the Council during a special meeting on the evening of Jan. 31. He fills the position left open by Tim Grayson, who was elected to the state Assembly in November.

He was one of seven candidates interviewed by the Council for the vacant seat.

McGallian said the appointment was something he'd been working toward and that he was honored to take this next step in serving the city of Concord.

"I am excited to provide excellent service to the citizens of Concord and look forward to lots of new projects that, I feel, have Concord right on track to becoming a remarkable city," he said.

Prior to his new role, McGallian was named to the city treasurer position in July 2015 and previously served on the city's Planning Commission from 2010 to 2015. Professionally, he works as a business underwriting specialist for State Farm Insurance.
