Updated: Early Morning Collision Involves Bicyclist and Vehicle

A collision between a vehicle and bicyclist in Antioch this morning brings a medical helicopter to the scene shortly after 7 a.m.

UPDATE 10:40AM-

A 50-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized after being involved in a crash with a vehicle this morning in Antioch, according to police.

Officers responded at 6:57 a.m. to the intersection of East 13th Street and Cavallo Road, where a vehicle collided with a bicyclist, police said.

Responding officers found the 50-year-old Antioch man suffering multiple injuries.

He was airlifted to a hospital for treatment, according to police.

Police said the driver, who was not injured, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. It does not appear that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, according to police.

ANTIOCH - A medical helicopter is landing at the scene of a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist in Antioch this morning, a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.

The collision was reported at 6:58 a.m. in the area of East 13th Street and Cavallo Road.

The medical helicopter was landing at the scene as of around 7:30 a.m., the dispatcher said.

No other information about the incident was immediately available.
