Earthquake Near Antioch Shakes East Bay, Beyond

ANTIOCH, CAβ€” A magnitude 3.7 earthquake struck near the city of Antioch in Contra Costa County around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake struck 4 miles south of Antioch near Black Diamond Mines Regional Preserve at a depth of 10 miles below the Earth's surface.

The earthquake was centered 11 miles east of Concord, 5 miles west of Brentwood and 25 miles east of Oakland.

It was felt across much of the East Bay, including in Concord, Martinez, Clayton, Pittsburg, Walnut Creek, Byron, Alamo, San Ramon, Lamorinda and Castro Valley, as well as in San Francisco, Marin County, and the South Bay, according to responses submitted to the USGS.

No injuries or damages were immediately reported in the quake.
