East Bay Officer Injured In Traffic Collision
The officer was en route to a call when the crash occurred, a police sergeant said.

OAKLEY, CA — An Oakley police officer suffered minor injuries and has been released from the hospital after being involved in a traffic collision en route to a call on Tuesday night, according to police officials.
The collision occurred around 6:51 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Empire Avenue, police Sgt. Jeff Solomon said. The officer was responding to a report of an after-hours disturbance at a bank.
Solomon wasn't able to confirm if the officer struck the other motorist first or vice versa. Both were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his leg and hand, Solomon said. A medical update on the other motorist wasn't provided early Wednesday morning. Nobody was else was injured, but the patrol vehicle was totaled.
No arrests were made as a result of the traffic collision and the intersection was open to traffic as of 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.
