Multiple Suspects Charged in East Bay Drug Trafficking Case

DEA agents executed warrants at homes in Contra Costa and Humboldt counties as well as Fairfield, Suisun City and Modesto, authorities say.

EAST BAY, CA -- Multiple Contra Costa County residents have been charged in a drug trafficking case that stretches from Los Angeles to Humboldt counties, authorities say.

The arrests are connected to Antioch resident Timothy Peoples, 40, who was himself arrested April 30 when DEA agents raided his home and found two ounces of cocaine and $10,000 in cash.

In all, DEA agents executed warrants at nine homes in Contra Costa and Humboldt counties that day, as well as Fairfield, Suisun City and Modesto, authorities said Wednesday, according to the East Bay Times.

Suspects charged in the indictment, which alleges controlled-substance offenses involving methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and cocaine base, included Lorenzo Lee, 66, of Antioch; Evan Martinez-Diaz, 26, of Bay Point; Deborah Polk, 63, of Antioch; Deshawnte Gamboa, 38, of Pittsburg; Anthony Brown, 57, of Bay Point; Marco Delgadillo, 39, and Jose Delgadillo, 41, of Fairfield; Luis Torres-Garcia, 33, of Rio Dell, Humboldt County; Jesse Lopez III, 30, of Fowler, Fresno County; Cesar Alvarado, 38, of Desert Springs, Riverside County; and Mago Aguilar-Pacheco, 38, of West Covina, Los Angeles County.

Investigators said in an affidavit that they began work with informants in August 2017 to purchase drugs from Pittsburg resident Jeffrey McCoy, 46, and used federal wiretap orders to monitor alleged traffickers’ communications, leading to seizures of specific quantities of illegal substances.

The defendants face potential sentences varying between 5 to 40 years in prison and between $500,000 and $10,000,000 in fines, but any court-imposed sentence must comply with federal guidelines and sentence-imposition rules.
