Power Restored To 5K In Contra Costa Outage
Pacific Gas & Electric responded to a large outage Friday in parts of Concord and Martinez.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA — There were 5,216 PG&E customers impacted by a power Friday outage Friday in Contra Costa County.
The outage was reported at 10:48 a.m. in the northern part of Concord near Buchanan Field Airport and the southern part of Martinez near Arnold Drive and Center Avenue.
"PG&E is currently patrolling the area and working to restore power, safely and as quickly as possible," PG&E Spokesperson Tamar Sarkissian told Patch at the time of the outage.

The utility initially believed power would not be restored until listed 6:45 p.m. Friday.
But as of 12:21 p.m., power was restored to all but 331 customers.

All customers were restored by 1 p.m. and the cause was determined to be a broken pole, Sarkissian told Patch.

The outage was in addition to some 30,000 PG&E customers who were still without power as of Thursday from weather-related outages that started last weekend during an atmospheric river storm.
