Poll: What Do You Think of Park & Shop?

The shopping center has been in Concord for more than 50 years. Does it need a makeover or is it fine just the way it is?

It's been a fixture in the city since the 1950s and a city official says theΒ strip mall on Willow Pass Road near downtown Concord is alive and well.

The mall, with its tall and familiar tower does not have an overall owner or manager. It's comprised of 26 different property owners and more than 50 stores among its 425,000 square-feet.

John Montagh, the city's economic development manager, said despite its age, Park & Shop does pretty well financially.

It also doesn't have any traffic or parking issues, according to the city.

"It's a vital center for Concord," said Montagh. "It attracts people to the city."
