Trial Begins for Concord Man - Grandson Killed by Pit Bulls

Steven Hayashi, who faces up to 10 years in prison, waived his right for his case to be heard by a jury, the Contra Costa Times reports. The 55-year-old man is on trial forΒ involuntary manslaughter and child abuse.Β Contra Costa Superior Court Judge John Kennedy will decide the case.Β 

Two-year-old Jacob Bisbee was killed by three of Hayashi's five pit bulls on July 22, 2010.Β
