Vice Mayor Shinn Won't Seek Re-election
Citing health issues, Vice Mayor Bill Shinn announced at Tuesday's Council that he campaign for re-election.
Concord's 70-year-old Vice Mayor Bill Shinn won't be back to the council table come November.
On July 10, Tuesday, he announced that he will not seek re-election, the Contra Costa Times reported.
He cited health issues, including his Parkinson's, which was diagnosed more than a year ago but wasn't made public until that Tuesday.

"It's something you could probably get through," Shinn said. "I find I don't have the energy I used to have. I don't have the patience on some things."
