Bay Area gas prices are higher than the national and state average, according to press release from AAA.

The national average is $3.65 and the state average is $3.78, while the Bay Area average is $3.88.

Though, if Claytonians are willing to make the trek to Concord, they can get gas for even below the national average.

Prices in Northern California now average $3.79, according to AAA.

$3.57   ARCO: 2490 Monument Blvd. at Detroit Avenue

$3.57   Costco: 2400 Monument Blvd. at Detroit Avenue

The $3.57 price is 32 cents cheaper than the unleaded gas at the Shell and Valero on Kirker Pass Road and Clayton Road.
