Meet Officer Grace Del Bagno, The ‘Singing Cop’ Making A Difference In Coronado’s Classrooms And Streets

From rewriting safety curriculum to leading the Shop With A Cop program, Officer Del Bagno shows what true community policing looks like.

Whether it’s serving as a military officer or stepping up as a first responder, it takes a rare combination of dedication, resilience and heart to take on these roles. And for many of these individuals, that same drive carries over into life beyond the badge.

Nearly eight years into her service with the Coronado Police Department, she’s brought her energy and dedication to countless local initiatives — from rewriting and teaching the Gang Resistance Education and Training (GREAT) curriculum, as reported by The Coronado News, to leading the beloved Shop With A Cop program, highlighted by Coronado Eagle & Journal.

Her passion for teaching led her to serve as a School Resource Officer for nearly six years, where she created the Crown City Safety Ambassadors program to help students tackle tough topics like bullying, social media safety and mental health. Outside the classroom, Del Bagno’s talents extend to the community stage — she’s known as the “singing cop,” performing the national anthem at events including Padres games and local memorials.
