72-Year-Old Woman Assaulted In Culver City; Suspect Arrested
A transient punched a 72-year-old woman in the face in Culver City.
CULVER CITY, CA — A 72-year-old woman is hospitalized Saturday after she was allegedly assaulted by a transient in Culver City, authorities said.
Officers were called at 9:45 a.m. Friday to Jefferson Boulevard and Raintree Circle where they learned the victim was walking home when the suspect ran toward her and punched her in the face with a closed fist, knocking her unconscious when her head hit the pavement, according to the Culver City Police Department.
A group of witnesses called the Culver City Fire Department. Paramedics treated the victim at the scene and took her to a hospital, where she is being treated for a concussion as well as other injuries.

Officers located the suspect and detained him without incident and witnesses and the victim positively identified him as the assailant. He was taken to the police department and booked for aggravated assault, authorities said.
No information about the suspect was immediately available.
