Woman, 76, Held Up ATM Customer In Attempted Armed Robbery: Police
A 76-year-old felon is in custody after she attempted to rob an ATM customer at gunpoint in Culver City, police said.
CULVER CITY, CA — A 76-year-old female felon is in custody after she attempted to rob a person at gunpoint at a Fox Hills ATM last month, police said Wednesday.
The incident occurred just after 11 a.m. on Aug. 31 on the 5800 block of Green Valley Circle, when the suspect approached the victim at an ATM while brandishing a firearm, according to the Culver City Police Department.
The suspect, later identified as Mattie Harris of Inglewood, pointed the gun at the victim and said "put all the money inside the bag or I'll shoot," according to police.

The victim, followed by Harris, ran into a bank office for safety. Harris later fled the area, police said.
On Friday, the Culver City Emergency Response and Crisis Negotiation Teams and unmanned aerial vehicle operators worked to bring Harris into custody. Harris, who was located inside a home, initially repeatedly refused to come out for authorities before she was arrested, police said.

Harris was charged with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of being a felon in possession of ammunition, police said. She remains in custody on $175,000 bail, according to jail records.
