Culver City Hosts 9/11 Remembrance

The City of Culver City will be honoring the losses experienced during the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. The Fire Department is coordinating with the Police Department a 9-11 Remembrance to be held on Sunday, September 11, 2011 in the courtyard of the Culver City City Hall, 9770 Culver Blvd.  Members of the public are invited to attend. Parking is available at City Hall on Parking Level One.  Below is the ceremony schedule:

6:30 a.m. Police and Fire Personnel will assemble

6:59 a.m. Time of the South Tower collapse, bell rings

Color Guard lowers flags to half-staff

7:20 a.m. Ceremony completed

Following the event, the public is invited to the unveiling of the new “Freedom Shrine” display of historic documents in the Mike Balkman Council Chambers.  This is a joint effort with the City and the Culver City Exchange Club.
