CULVER CITY, CA — Culver City police officials on Monday was forced to apologize to an actor whom they claim was the driver in a red-light camera ticket.
The Police Department had accused actor Steve Tom of running a red light, the Los Angeles Times reported. The actor, who plays a judge on the TV show, "Major Crimes," had to hire a private detective and the Times' help to get the $490 ticket dismissed.
At issue was the red-light camera of the driver who has an uncanny resemblance to the actor. According to the Times, the ticket has Tom's name on it but was addressed to the registered car's owner address in St. Louis, far away from Tom's home in North Hollywood.
