Culver City to Host Community-Wide Discussion on Race, Religion

The discussion will be the seventh of these community-wide discussions hosted by the city.

Culver City, CA — With race tension specially high following the shooting deaths of two black men by police and the shooting deaths of four police officers in Dallas, the Culver City Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission will be hosting a community-wide discussion on race and religion.

The discussion, titled “Race, Religion and Culture: Living in Harmony Within our Community,” will be the seventh of these community-wide discussions hosted by the city. The population of Culver City is predominately white, but the city has become more diverse in recent years.

The genesis of this community discussion started in March after a photo of the Culver City High School Black Students Union dressed in all black in honor of Black History Month was distributed via social media with a blatantly racist caption.
