During Stage 2 of the same construction activity, eastbound Washington Place traffic will not be able to drive through the intersection nor access Washington Boulevard. Instead, all this traffic will be directed to turn right onto westbound Washington Boulevard.

The closures will be in place around the clock during the construction period.  A detour signage plan will be implemented to direct Sepulveda Boulevard and Washington Place traffic to use Washington Boulevard to continue on an eastbound direction.  During this Stage of construction, westbound Washington Boulevard traffic will be restricted to one lane westbound and right turns will be permitted onto Washington Place.  No lane closures will be in effect for eastbound Washington Boulevard traffic during this Stage.  Click on Diagram 2 to the right of this article for details.

For the duration of both Stages of the construction project and due to the anticipated traffic impacts and congestion, it is advisable that alternate routes be used, such as Culver Boulevard, Jefferson Boulevard, or the I-10 freeway.  Venice Boulevard is not an advisable route due to construction by METRO of the light rail transit line.
