Health Care Vans Will Serve Culver City Areas With Large Homeless Populations
A new city program aims to make medical services accessible by bringing mobile care to areas with large unhoused populations.
CULVER CITY, CA — The city this week announced the launch of a mobile health-care services program meant to provide accessible resources to homeless people.
The city partnered with Healthcare in Action, a street-based medical group that provides comprehensive services for behavioral health and substance use disorders, housing navigation and care management support for those experiencing homelessness. HIA teams will offer weekly services at various locations throughout Culver City that have high concentrations of unhoused people, the city announced.
"Our agreement with Healthcare in Action marks a significant step forward in our efforts to address the healthcare needs of our unhoused residents," Mayor Yasmine-Imani McMorrin said. "By bringing critical medical and social services directly, we are enhancing accessibility and improving outcomes for those who need it most. We are meeting the needs of our community and ensuring that everyone has the resources they need to thrive."
