Culver City: Make Your Voice Heard With This Public Safety Survey
Culver City residents are invited to take a survey on public safety and policing in the community.
CULVER CITY, CA — Do you have a vision for public safety in Culver City? Now, it's time to make your voice heard with an online survey as part of Culver City's Public Safety Review.
The City Council has requested the public's opinions on public safety services and responses. They want to hear your experiences interacting with the Culver City Police Department.
Officials are asking people to participate and contribute your vision for a safe Culver City. The deadline was extended to Sept. 15 and responses will help inform recommendations presented to the council Oct. 12. This feedback will also shape the city's general plan update.

People across the U.S. are demanding public safety reform following the killing of George Floyd in police custody. Community members want to examine public safety services, officials said.
"In response to numerous community requests, the City Council of Culver City held a Special Meeting on June 15, 2020, focused on hearing public comments about the Culver City Police Department’s policies and budget," officials said.

The council created a task force to review and reallocate safety resources, services and budgets, along with a review of the police department's use of force policy. The group is also hosting community listening sessions, public meetings, reviewing budget details and analyzing data from the department.
"This survey is designed to gather information about community members’ opinions about public safety services and responses, as well as perceptions of the Culver City Police Department," officials said.
Officials plan to present the findings to the public on Sept. 17 during a joint meeting of the Chief Advisory Panel and the General Plan Advisory Committee.
Your survey answers are anonymous, and you can also skip any questions. The survey is also available in both English and Spanish.
"There are no right or wrong answers – we want to know about your perspectives and experiences," officials said.
